I am willing to pay the price to have a quality peeler and not have to throw it away when it gets dull. Actually replacing the blades is easy and safe. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superior product *by C***Y on December 26, 2012* Oxo makes two straight peelers. The regular all-plastic model, and the pro model, which has a metal top. Both are excellent. But trust me, and I have worked in a commercial kitchen for 11 years, the Pro model is worth the extra couple of bucks. The added weight of the metal top makes it clearly superior, as the weight adds momentum to the top of the peeler, which makes it easier to use. We have both in our kitchen, and we fight over who gets the Pro unis for a big job.If you do a lot of peeling, eventually the blade will lose it's edge. Replacing the blade is less expensive and better for the environment than replacing the entire peeler. Buy the Oxo Pro and a set of spare blades.
