It is mounted by sliding it into a mounting grove and gravity keeps it in place. I used this on my 2008 JK Wrangler a few years ago when the original one had a small crack. My only complaint was the cap to this did not have the foam disk that fits inside of the lid. Because of this, a small amount of coolant would splash out from under the lid.
