The second, it didn't. The first turned out to be a mistake on my part. As with *any* hose fitting, whether it be plumbing, air or otherwise: Ensure the gasket inside the fitting is seated at the bottom (can be pushed in with a toothpick or similar if not), and MOST IMPORTANTLY - DONT CRUSH THE GASKET BY OVER-TIGHTENING. When you feel the fitting snug up against the gasket, stop turning. You can also put teflon tape (plumbers tape) on the threads. It wasn't needed in my case, but I did it anyway since I always do it for anything plumbing related. If you are using tools to tighten these down, you are absolutely doing it wrong.
