Be sure to use the correct size wire connector and wire size for the application. I used a smaller connector and had to drill the hole a little larger. This left a smaller amount of the connector making contact with the post. The wire and entire unit got warm and kept tripping. Once I changed the connectors and size of the wire out, everything thing is better. The studs where you connect wires are 3/8", so be sure that the lugs or ring terminals on your wires are the right size. I had to redo one end of a 1/0 cable because the copper lug was only 5/16". I replaced it with a 3/8" lug and all was fine. This device looks to be very sturdy. It only takes two screws to mount it, but you'll have to supply those. I used #12 x 1".
