Product Description Sciarid Fly Nematodes Sciarid fly (also known as fungus gnat or compost fly) is a troublesome pest of houseplants and plants in greenhouses and conservatories. The larval stage of the sciarid fly attacks the roots of plants and may cause the death of seedlings. These nematodes will attack the larvae which will in turn significantly reduce the Sciarid fly. Easy to apply, just water the nematodes into the soil. Completely harmless to children, pets and wildlife. Suitable for use on fruit and vegetables and they can be eaten straight after application. This is a mix of Steinernema Feltiae and Steinernema carpocapsae nematodes. How and When to Use Sciarid Fly/Fungus Gnat Nematodes Treats 12 sq.m Application time: April to August (Applying outside of this timeframe may still aid the control). How to apply: Apply as a drench around roots of the plants or where pest is present. Apply to moist soil and water in. You can apply using a watering can with a course rose head or use a hose end applicator for larger areas. Frequency of application: Repeat applications are required to control the pest. Please note these are a live product - only order when you need them

Decided to try these as we have over 20 plants in the house, this worked a charm and no after residue will use these going forwards - would recomend

There's enough product for three or four douses of your indoor plants (and you'll need to do it at least twice to kill both adult and larval phases), but after that, the blighters are gone. Keep it in a sealed box in the fridge and use within a month. It's worth the money because it actually works.

**Q: Would this product also kill root aphids?**
A: Where it isnt mentioned in the list of " victims ", my problem with root aphids was considerably lessened using this product..

**Q: Can it be applied in November / December?**
A: If applying outside the soil temperature needs to be above 8 degrees Celsius however many people apply these indoors all year round.

**Q: What is the actual nematode in this product please?**
A: Its a predator of the fungus gnat in suspension powder .when mixed with water and put on plants soil it eats all the lavae of the scarid fly ,so you don't get them back. It lasts about 3 months.

**Q: Anyone know if these are the nematodes steinernema feltiae please? does it say on the package? i can't find any details in the description here online**

It works. There's enough product for three or four douses of your indoor plants (and you'll need to do it at least twice to kill both adult and larval phases), but after that, the blighters are gone. Keep it in a sealed box in the fridge and use within a month. It's worth the money because it actually works.

I’d bought a bag of compost and it came with gnats. Didn’t realise how annoying they were and I lost a couple of plants. So last resort was to try this and it worked. Must keep the soil moist otherwise the little bugs will die. But did the job. Would recommend.
