The old quilts didn't have the very puffy look some people seem to want. This is a compressed cotton a bit like a blanket inside the quilt which is just what I wanted. It really made a warm and cozy quilt with just a little bit of weight to it, which is what I wanted. Sewing went well. I don't have much experience quilting but my little machine seemed to sew easily through the quilt layers.
