Our daughter has a cold mist humidifier and the tablet takes a long time to dissolve, unlike the liquid version which sort of fades after a couple hours. The tablet in cold water will still dissolve and takes 8 hours plus. In a warm humidifier the tablet lasts around 4 or 5 hours, which enough time to get into a comfortable sleep. I would not let the negative reviews detour you from at least trying these. They are now a regular staple in our medicine closet.
