There is always a safety concern that perches may have some type of wood finish on them. These appear to be natural and untreated. They also fasten securely to the cage preventing falling accidents. I got the small twisty looking ones and they feel nice, no terribly rough spots or anything, and the washer screws are well assembled and they fit the cage perfectly.
