However, it causes such horrible rope burn that we stopped using it and bought a nylon leash.The problem with this lead is that it is dark, and long, so you can't see it at all on the ground. USUALLY this isn't a problem with a leash, but if this lead happens to touch your bare skin (ankle, maybe your palm) while it's moving, you will lose skin. A lot of skin. I have a scar on my leg from 3 months ago due to this lead, and my husband on his hand, both of which needed a ton of neosporin and weeks to heal to a point where we didn't feel pain anymore when moving.No, not exaggerating. The quality of this lead is horrible. And it's not like our dog is some marathon sprinter. But you can't touch this lead at all with your naked hands, unless you already have a good grasp on it. This means it's NOT good for training your dog (where you have to reel them in, or if you're trying to manage distance with your dog), and it's not good for dog sports like tracking - where you HAVE to let the lead run through your hands.It could be good for "walking" your dog in a situation where you always have the end of the leash in your hand and never, ever, touch the rope parts. But god bless you if you do accidentally make contact with the rope while your dog's moving.
