## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can someone please compare directly against Shure SE535?**
A: 900 has more detail and separation than the Shures. The only problem with the 900 is the "connection" issue. That is why I returned mine.

**Q: What is the fix for the connection issue with the UE 900s? I'm finding that the cutting in and out is getting more frequent over time. *** EDIT 05/07 - I did find that a drop of DeoxIT on both ends of the wire-to-earpiece connection resolved this problem - nice solid connection with no drop outs or static.**
A: I have had no issue with the connection, so as far as a fix I am not to sure. but from experience with other headphones and earbuds, if you are having an issue it's normally a frayed wire, I would suggest switching the earphones to the other wire that came with your ue 900's and see if that works, if not I would contact logitech and get them fixed if they are still under warranty

**Q: Is the portion of the cable that goes over your ear moldable or just a sorta pre-shaped stiffer section?**
A: The hard plastic is a moldable piece that retains its shape after you adjust it. It'll allow you to bend in any direction.

**Q: What is the product warranty?**
A: Hi Joseph, Logitech does a 2 year warranty on their 9000's.....i hope this helps...they sound unbelievable!!!

    Not great

*by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2023*

The sound quality, for using on stage, is pretty lackluster. There's almost no clarity to what you're hearing. They're mediocre headphones at best. I took a risk on these, and it didn't pay off. Would not recommend.

    Significant upgrade over Triple-fi 10s

*by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2014*

I've owned and enjoyed the TF10s for several years and was excited when these came out. I scoured review sites like Headfi and others trying to determine whether the UE900s would be worth the upgrade, or whether I should spend bit more on customs (JH16s, 1964s, etc) or Sennheiser IE800s. Most of these reviews highlighted the improved presence/detail in the mid-range, as well as the improved low-end definition. While I can't compare to customs or the IE800s, I believe these are a big upgrade over the TF10s. The in-ear fit is significantly better, and the addition of volume controls for the iPhone is welcome - as is the L-shaped headphone jack. The braided cord also seems to twist less, although it can be prone to tangling when wrapped up.The sound is simply fantastic in my opinion. I hear details and presence in the mid-range instruments & vocals, improved soundstage/separation of instruments, etc. I can now also hear the 'empty space' when a song ends and you hear the faint echo/decay of the notes. The UE900s make beautiful music and I find myself listening to many recordings over again. Two things though about the sound, which has been pointed out in other reviews: 1. The treble doesn't have quite the same 'sparkle' as the TF10s. I raised the upper frequencies on my iPhone/iTunes EQ to compensate 2. I find the vocals almost too upfront - while the TF10s are very recessed (especially after you listen to the UE900s), I feel the UE900s could have backed off just a bitMaybe someday I'll find the perfect universal earphone, but for now I'm enjoying the heck out of the UE900s. Well worth the upgrade

Build Quality and Logitech Customer Service are Problematic-- Buy at Own Risk

*by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2013*

Technically, the headphones are first-rate. Sound clarity is great, and they're hypothetically well-designed (over-the-ear; plastic ear guides; detachable cables). That said, the build quality is atrociously poor. I bought a pair Dec 2012; I'm now on my fourth replacement (Oct 2013). Well, I would be except for another issue, described shortly. The issue is that the (two-piece) earpiece cover falls off of the earpiece. Whatever adhesive is used is grossly insufficient in that within a month or two, they come apart. I treat them carefully and it doesn't matter.Secondly, the metal contacts (both the connectors from the cables to the earpieces, and the headphone jack) corrode spontaneously. I bought a spare cable and I was using it within a month because the corrosion occurred so quickly. Finally, Logitech CSRs are not sufficiently motivated and/or empowered to correct these technical issues, mostly through using UPS Ground only to ship, and only after they've received back the defective product. Given I've been through so many replacements, this is unacceptable.I've done executive escalation twice-- the first time I received a replacement UE900 within just a few days. In the fourth instance (with the third defective unit), I've escalated again because they sent me a UE9000, not UE900, as a replacement. My advice: buy Shure or Westone instead. The last Shure IEMs I had lasted over four years.Edit: I've been told by Logitech that they've addressed some of the issues identified in my review; namely, the earpiece coming apart. By using a stronger adhesive, Logitech hopes to correct this problem. I've received a replacement UE900 (which was overnighted) with the new adhesive, and I'll place in this review if I have further problems.Re: corrosion-- there is a liquid that is supposed to be applied once a month to the metal contacts to keep them corrosion-free. I also read this in another review (I can't remember the name). Hopefully that'll clear up the corrosion issue.I'm changing my review rating from One to Three Stars contingent on the problem being fixed. Logitech Corporate took interest in my case and assured me they're eager to improve the product. Plus, I don't like giving One-Star reviews. That said, it shouldn't take escalation to get a properly working product and/or working replacements. Good luck, Logitech.I'm changing my review -again- from three stars to one star. Since the last time I reviewed the IEM's, I've gone through two more pairs. In each case, an earpiece has failed. In the first of the two, the earpiece emitted sound like a blown speaker. In the second, audio began to spontaneously degrade. To reiterate; I don't treat my IEM's harshly, so I don't understand why they (six pairs over a year) fail so readily. As a comparison, I've had a cheap pair of Skullcandy IEMs that have performed, albeit with lower audio quality, without failure. I bought them for $20 at Target.
