Close But No Cigar

I'm relatively satisfied with this key fob cover, but I'd return it if it weren't a hassle.The Good:1. Secure and nearly perfect fit * very confident this won't slip off * Mazda symbol cutout is almost perfect * button visibility is great2. Usability * no signal loss even at a distance * there's a cutout for the latch to release the manual key, so there's no need to remove the cover3. Color * the color of the cover is darker than the listing picture, but it's very attractive and vibrant * the hardware colors match the Mazda symbol4. Quality * hardware feels sturdy including the spring on the carabiner * it came with a little screwdriver for the D-shaped part that attaches to the fobThe Meh:1. Rope color - it's probably as close as possible to the cover color, but it's uneven, and the glossy cover v the matte rope don't quite match (not a big deal for me since I won't be using that side)2. Fingerprint magnet - it's very glossy, so there's no getting around itThe Ugly: Really, my biggest issue with this is that the button window isn't crystal clear. It's yellowed like the plastic is old which makes the buttons and fob look dirty. It's not quite a deal breaker, but it does bother me, especially at this price point. The last picture illustrates how much of a difference it makes.

Almost lasted a year...

Bought two of these for my new car key fob Nov 2009. Used them for just under a year—also note this year was pandemic so car keychains did not get normal usage. The keychain seemed sturdy and durable. However, I’m bummed to report that today one of them went ka-put. It detached and it does not show any visible damage. There was only normal wear and tear from being clipped on to a purse strap and just being a keychain. Not sure why it detached but it did while I was out on a walk with my toddler and I looked away from my toddler when I heard my key fob drop. And in that moment my kid ran her bike into a stationary object. Now I don’t trust the other keychain to be reliable and am now looking for replacements.

This cover basically adds no bulk at all to your fob, if that's your biggest worry (it was mine). My second set of keys was given to me with a chip in the top so I wanted to make sure I protected this one as much as possible! And the back part still allows you to slide the physical key out of the fob. If you're on the fence, just get it!
