It was longer than what we needed, but it was easy to cut and retrofit to meet our needs. This design is an improvement from the previous design as the wooden dowel rungs are shorter and probably will not warp as much. It has been installed for 2 months and the kids love it. Review: Very good with two installation suggestions - Overall a great net. I used it in a DIY project and have two suggestions for future costumers. Lower beam: drill 1/2 inch holes for the loose ends to put through the lower beam. I really have good tools but with the suggested 3/8 inch holes the hole is as wide as the climbing net cord is and I had to widen it. It just makes it easier using 1/2 inch and doesn't do much/any harm to the wood beam. Secondly don't tighten the screws at the top of the net. Just make them tight enough so you can pull the net straight and fasten the lower ends. Then fully tighten the screws at the top end to increase the tension in the net even more. I purchased three hooks and hung it to the ceiling stud forming a "box" shape for climbing, over a bouncy "jump-o-lene. But my daughter is only 18 mo. Old, she's a hellova climber, but she slipped and nearly HUNG herself with her neck caught in the rope. I would mount it to a vertical stud on the wall, and anchor it to a floor stud making a diagonal climb. Or you can mount it on the roof like I did, only make sure your child has enough upper body strength to pull themself up from a precarious entanglement. I would however play it safe and mount it diagonally. Hope you have no love for the carpet! Lol :) **Q: Does the bottom of the cargo net need to be attached to something?** A: I really think it does. Having it unattached would make the ladder much more difficult and dangerous to climb. Falling off of it would likely be easier too since the bottom would be allowed to swing freely if it were unattached. I just attached mine to a 2X4 with holes drilled to feed the rope ends through. Then I attached the 2X4 to stakes pounded into the ground about a foot out from the top of the ladder like in the display picture. I use it all the time so I know it can handle an adults weight. **Q: What is involved in "some assembly"? Are the wood dowels secured or might they slip out of the rope?** A: No assembly required for the cargo net and dowels. The rope goes around the dowels for support and through the dowels so they dont slip out. I also added some washers as seen on the picture not included in the set. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Instructions either unclear or I'm missing parts, works fine *by J***R on April 24, 2014* Solid construction, design is not the best, but it's a pretty simple thing to put together with no instructions if you think it through. It's designed to go with the Swing-n-Slide kits, and it didn't really fit the model I had assembled as they saw it, but I got it up with no issues. It's very sturdy, though the wood on the handles doesn't really match your standard lumber (I stained my playset so no issue there).
