## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can it support dual displayport video outputs at the same time @4K60hz**
A: This dock does not support dual 4k monitors. Have personally tried and confirmed it does not. Had to jump up to the WD 19 TB 180W which does support dual 4k monitors.

**Q: What's the maximum number of monitor's can this be hooked up to?**
A: I have an issue with this. Technically the device has 3 ports; 2 Display ports and 1 HMDI. On my brand new Dell XPS 15 7590 laptop with a GTX 1650 graphics card and i9-9980HK processor. Only the internal 630 graphics card is used. Which at best can support 1 external 4K monitor, but not through the docking station. Only through the laptop HDMI. So the docking station is worthless, unless you except 2 4k monitors running at 30 hz, that resolution hurts my eyes. The sharpness of the screen deteriorates for me. Dell support has been worthless with this issue. To be clear the issue is the laptop (it does not use the GTX card) and running 4k monitors. If you are running HD monitors you can conceivably have 5 monitors; 3 connected to docking station, 1 connected to the laptop HDMI and the laptop monitor.

**Q: Will this work with Apple computers like the D6000 does?**
A: The new MacBook Pros use 61 watt power supplies for the 13" and 87 watt power supplies for the 15". Since this dock provides 130W out, it should have no problem charging either of the MacBooks.
I do want to note though that MacBooks utilize Thunderbolt technology, and this dock as-is does not support Thunderbolt. During our testing, we found that this dock will act as a single monitor even if two are connected to the dock. If I remember correctly, it showed the same desktop on both monitors.
There is a Thunderbolt version of this dock here: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Thunderbolt-WD19TB-2880-60-Protocol/dp/B07V867LW4
I have never tested the Thunderbolt version with a MacBook to see if it has full functionality; we have stuck with the D6000s for our MacBooks.

**Q: Does this charge a xps 13 the xps 13 comes with a 45 w charger is it compatible for charging and for data transfer to desktop harddrives?**
A: The USB C connector will provide up to 65watts of power on the WD19.
For other users that require more power than this, you will need the WD19TB or the WD19DC. The WD19DC

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Connection, Clean Desktop
*by on Reviewed in the United States December 19, 2019*

I bought the The Dell WD19 180W Docking Station for my home office. I had to do something with all the peripherals that I had connected to my laptop and all the wires laying all over my workspace. So far it has worked perfectly with my Latitude 3590, 2 monitors (1 using HDMI/1 using USB-VGA Adapter), a J5 USB 3.0 7 Port hub with my 3 FreeAgent drives attached, and CAT-5 Network connection. The only minor issue I've encountered so far is that the 2nd monitor using the USB-VGA adapter does not run video very well which is something that I expected. But it works perfectly fine with other applications I've placed on that monitor. (Remote Desktop connections, Office Applications, QuickBooks, etc.)To date I've experienced no connection dropouts or problems with the docking station and it's great to be able to go mobile by just disconnecting one cable!I'm very happy with this purchase!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fixed a lot of issues I had with a cheap port replicator.
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 7, 2022*

First, I bought a doc that had more than the recommended wattage to eliminate any passthrough power issues. On the negative side, it only had one HDMI port and a Display port, so I had to buy an adapter for my second monitor. It did not have an 1/8" mini-pin stereo adapter for my external speaker. So, I had to resort to a blue tooth connection that comes with its own issues on reboots, etc. Having said all that, I love it! All the instability issues I has with an underpowered doc and port replicator went away. It was expensive but worth the price. I'll take stability over price every time.pat

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dell Quality Docking Station-Easy to Install and Use
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 2, 2024*

Purchased this model WD19 180W with 130 watt power delivery for my new Dell XPS 15.7 " 9530 laptop. It easily recognized all the monitors and connections. No complex install procedures at all.I usually run my laptop at my work desk with two monitors in extended mode. And I close the lid of the laptop so I can place it out of the work surface area. The docking station instantly knew what I was doing and appropriately configured the video drivers accordingly. If you have a 130 watt battery in your laptop be sure and purchase either the WD19 or WD19S docking station with 130 watt Power Delivery (the 90 W power Delivery is not supported). You can also use the higher end station WD22TB4 with 130 watt if you need the advanced graphics.I am using a Display Port 1.4 Cable to an HDMI terminal to connect to the monitors. No degradation of signal and easy to configure the display settings. The ports on the docking station are generous: 1x USB-C 3.1 (Gen 2), 1x USB-A 3. 1 (Gen 1 with power Share), 2x USB-A 3. 1 (Gen 1), 1x combo Audio/ headset, 1x audio out. Video ports: 2x DisplayPort 1. 4, 1x HDMI, 1x USB-C multifunction DisplayPort, 1x Gigabit Ethernet RJ45.One feature I really like is the sleep button on the docking station. I press it and the computer goes to sleep as do the monitors. And when I return and press the same button all returns to exactly where I wsa. This routine is often complex and can lead to restarting the computer and awkward monitors displays. Dell has figured this out.
