Review: Well Designed and Built — Very Happy Customer! - I LOVE THIS THING! I’ve just had a simple plastic shopping bag approach for years, and it’s been fine. But when I had a bug infestation and some of those bugs liked the used litter, I decided I needed a system that to keep out bugs and keep in smells at the same time. I did a bunch of research, read many reviews, and decided on this baby. It’s simple and effective, not gimmicky like some more complicated systems. Not only does the top close tightly, the handle can then be pulled upright to lock the top in place (like an old fashioned ice chest handle). The handle is substantial enough to carry the entire can if needed. I think the build quality is excellent and the design is thoughtful. The inside pail over which the bag is placed has little “buttons” on two sides to peg the bag in place, and clever holes on the other sides to further keep the bag in place. It’s very easy to use and easy to take out the filled litter bag and replace. The only weakness is the bags that come with the system, they are so expensive, it’s ridiculous. The company will make most of its money on us if we keep buying the bags! This whole idea of using “compostable” bags when they will be thrown in an anaerobic landfill might make you feel better, but they’ll never degrade without oxygen. Better to find and buy recycled plastic bags IF you can find the right size. I found a similar sized plastic bag (not recycled plastic though) on desertcart that works well enough (still too wide) and is much less expensive per bag. The Petfusion bags are 17” wide and ~24” long/high. It’s pretty hard to find that size bag just looking through the general online plastic bag selection online, but make sure you get something that is AT LEAST 1.2 mil thick (or double bag). Whether I use the Petfusion or other garbage bags, I only fill them about 2/3 — 3/4 way full before disposing of them, mainly due to the weight of the dirty litter. A few minutes after disposing of litter in the bucket and reclosing the lid, the room is free of smell until the next time the cat uses his box (I ck the box ~4 day). Just breathe through your mouth until you close it back up :). If you’re on the fence about buying this, go for it!
Review: Most effective poop pail to control the stink! - This is by far the best poop pail we have ever owned. This is our second. The first lasted for 5 years, sitting outside in the elements (four seasons of Pennsylvania) with relatively no issues. Unfortunately, it got hit and fell, breaking the hinge cleanly off. Still we used it as the handle held the lid on fine. But when I saw it on sale for early Black Friday, I couldn't pass up getting a new one. The charcoal insert and design manages odor brilliantly. You only get a whiff of stink when you open it. It is easy to remove and change the bag. One note, it is on the light side. We've placed a heavy rock in the bottom of the outside container just to keep it steady in the wind. No problem with blowing with that extra weight.

I LOVE THIS THING! I’ve just had a simple plastic shopping bag approach for years, and it’s been fine. But when I had a bug infestation and some of those bugs liked the used litter, I decided I needed a system that to keep out bugs and keep in smells at the same time. I did a bunch of research, read many reviews, and decided on this baby. It’s simple and effective, not gimmicky like some more complicated systems. Not only does the top close tightly, the handle can then be pulled upright to lock the top in place (like an old fashioned ice chest handle). The handle is substantial enough to carry the entire can if needed. I think the build quality is excellent and the design is thoughtful. The inside pail over which the bag is placed has little “buttons” on two sides to peg the bag in place, and clever holes on the other sides to further keep the bag in place. It’s very easy to use and easy to take out the filled litter bag and replace. The only weakness is the bags that come with the system, they are so expensive, it’s ridiculous. The company will make most of its money on us if we keep buying the bags! This whole idea of using “compostable” bags when they will be thrown in an anaerobic landfill might make you feel better, but they’ll never degrade without oxygen. This is by far the best poop pail we have ever owned. This is our second. The first lasted for 5 years, sitting outside in the elements (four seasons of Pennsylvania) with relatively no issues. Unfortunately, it got hit and fell, breaking the hinge cleanly off. Still we used it as the handle held the lid on fine. But when I saw it on sale for early Black Friday, I couldn't pass up getting a new one. The charcoal insert and design manages odor brilliantly. You only get a whiff of stink when you open it. It is easy to remove and change the bag. One note, it is on the light side. We've placed a heavy rock in the bottom of the outside container just to keep it steady in the wind. No problem with blowing with that extra weight.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to Use

Overall, I like this product. I've always used Litter Genie and hated the bag system for it. They're expensive and don't last very long! In my opinion, the best feature of this container is the fact that you can use your own bag. You save a ton of money by being able to purchase whatever you want! When it's closed and sealed, it does a great job of containing the odor. I've been using this for about 3 months and have never smelled anything outside of the container. When the container is open, the smell is pretty powerful. I don't feel the charcoal inserts help or reduce odor whatsoever, and I will not purchase those again. Moisture also accumulates around the seal, which I don't love, but you only encounter when emptying the container. When I empty, I always use a sanitizing wipe on the edges where the moisture was and I also wipe down the entire inside. I leave the container in my garage for the day to air out. I do feel the plastic does absorb some of the odor, and I feel leaving it to air out helps. I do think this will probably have to be replaced more often than a Litter Genie because of that fact, the odor absorbed will become overpowering with time (but maybe I'm wrong!). I have 2 small cats, and I change the bag once a week. Changing the bag is very easy. There are clips on 2 sides to secure it. Overall, I like this container to dispose of kitty waste! It's easy to use and more convenient than other options. I would purchase this again.
