The setting lock feature allows parents to lock in channels and other settings so they can't be mistakenly changed. Units are great for kids 5 years old or older but the Talk button is a little hard to press in for younger kids. I love that it only has a distance of about 2 miles which is perfect for kids. My only issue is the screen size is pretty small and has a lot of indicators on it so a little hard to see but once you set and lock, you don't really need to use the screen while using the units.
