The picture must be enhanced, cause it looked like it was made on craft day at the local grade school after they ran out of macaroni. I could not get it to run, so it was definitely quiet. I haven't had to return many things to Amazon but when I did the return postage was paid. The hands swing loose, which they apparently anticipate because they tell you to anchor them to the post if that happens. I did that, but they popped loose again. Also, the big hand and and the little hand collide unless you bend them apart, which looks weird and also it's a strange thing to have to do to a clock to make it work. So, we're returning it. Packaging received in good condition. Opened box and put AA battery in mechanism, however the clock hands did not move. Purchased new batteries thinking perhaps my batteries might be bad; same result. I noticed the back of the clock looked like it had been repaired. The wood mounting bracket appeared to have been replaced and there were two long scratches that had been painted over.
