### ⭐ Could potertaily damage your computer. You get what you pay for.

*by D***. on December 13, 2015*

In theory, this would be a great product, but it is so cheaply made that it could cause damage to your computer. (Go for a better model) When this arrived, two of the switches were pushed into the device's case, likely from a heavy object resting on top of it. Since it is packed loosely in a plastic bag, it has zero protection.I decided to plug it in anyway, and all but those 2 ports worked, but i did not feel comfortable using it, especially since it was causing noise on the USB-powered speakers I have.Turning the rest of the switches on or off proved to be a mistake, as another switch became loose. Deciding it was not worth using, and too much of a hassle to return for the price, i opened the case. The switches are soldered to the circuit board, but with a huge space between the body of the switch and the board. This allows the body of the switch to move when the switch is turned on or off. The movement is transferred to the solder pads on the board. On the two switches that were pushed into the body during shipment, the solder pads were actually disconnected (broken away) from the circuit board. Plus, the circuit board is less than half the thickness of a regular one, allowing the whole thing to flex like cardboard every time something is plugged in or a switch is actuated.Bottom line, this thing could quite possibly short-circuit and kill the USB port on your computer. (There is typically a fuse in the port that protects the rest of the computer, but that port will be dead thereafter.)

### ⭐⭐ Good idea; shoddy construction!

*by A***N on September 10, 2015*

Great concept - one of rare hubs with long enough cable, & nice design for a good number of devices. BUT cheap construction: Some of sockets to plug in devices (the whole purpose of the hub) have gone on & off while supposed to be on. Just doesn't seem like construction is good enough to function properly. Tried it on 2 computers, to be sure not a problem with the USB2 outlet on my new one, but even on the old reliable desktop, Tried unplugging & replugging in devices. Same problem with intermittent momentary shut-off of devices plugged into some of the sockets. Specifically, i have a flash drive that i had showing as a separate window on Windows "File Explorer" (file manager), which showed it to disappear every so often & i had to go back & re-load the file manager over & over (in XP). Just realized, writing this up, that i've been annoyed by my cordless mouse, which is also plugged into this hub, seeming to be non-reactive for a second when i try to do various scrolling & such; wonder if it's the mouse or again this hub intermittently losing connection.Tired of running test after test, to try to isolate the problems; i just want a hub that works.BTW, not sure if anyone has mentioned that the LEDs that indicate whether each device is on or off (a great idea, so can leave devices in it & just turn off switch when don't want to access for some time) are REALLY bright ...& at least one failed, so even when the switch for that device is on the LED is off. I mention the brightness because, while it looks cool, i found it actually a bit disconcerting when i wanted the room reasonably dark -- so bright that it was noticeable in the next room where i was trying to sleep. Since USB plug is active when a computer is in "sleep" mode, found that only way to get the room dark would be to completely shut down the computer.UPDATE:Well, after using this thing for several months, more of its ports keep failing; & i was having trouble with my mouse, but when i switched the USB wireless connector from one of the ports on this hub to the computer's USB port, it worked fine again. Deleted another star for that apparent losing of more & more functionality within less than a year; probably should've deleted all stars, since it's become virtually useless, & if any of the ports still work, it's so unreliable that i don't want to trust my data or controls to it. Just haven't had the patience to test everything so out of sheer generosity leaving a couple of stars in case some of it is still working OK.

### ⭐⭐ Worked Great, then Died

*by W***H on June 24, 2015*

Updated: Well, its been a year since this was purchased, and after a couple month, the USB Ports begin no working, now, 12 months later, I am down to only 3 working ports...I know with technology/mechanics, equipment just stops working after time. But something that is basically an extension cord, one would think it would last much longer.Original Review: This works great, easy to slip the switch for the desired plug and power/use the accessory, only reason for not 5-stars is that when all plugs are in use (especially with cables) it tends to flip over (very top heavy)
