The fit isn't great but that seems to be standard with most of the alternatives out there on amazon. The biggest problem is the latch holds the face plate/lid in place. When you close the compartment there's a latch that hangs down that is supposed to ride up over the catch on the lid side. The latch that hangs down hangs too low so instead of riding up over the lid side catch it goes below it. This means you have to push the button slightly to lift it up above the lid side catch and then let go in order to latch on and keep the lid closed.Once closed there is some play in the lid but again I think that's pretty common among alternatives.Lastly the star nut to tighten the slide that secures a tablet seems weak and I'm a little worried about trusting it to hold in an off-road situation. I tried tightening it to where I thought it might break and an ipad wouldn't stay in and the slide would still move.
