The sketckbook itself has really good paper. The paper has very little texture to it which makes it good for charcoal, graphite, color pencils and a light wash of watercolor. My only issue is when using pencil colors it doesn't grab the pigment as fast as some of the other sketchbooks I've used and requires a bit of a buildup.It has a good quality hard bound cover and spiral binding which is a lot more easy to use.
