I have a Specialized Rockhopper Expert (hardtail) that I converted from a mountain bike to a hybrid by just switching the rubber. I ride on a lot of pavement and sidewalk, and I could almost visibly see the knobs on the original tires wear down when doing a 28-mile round trip to work. With these I can still take the dirt and gravel trails, and they have enough traction to still feel stable, though I do slow down a little more in loose corners. I also recently started taking them offroad more, and while they are certainly not ideal there, I was still able to make it through. Where they really shine is on the paved trails though. I was able to increase my average speed and top speed with these, between the smoother surface, the higher pressure, and the slightly larger size. Great stopping power paired with my hydraulic brakes. On multiple occasions I've had to go from 16+ MPH to a full stop, like NOW, and these are up for the task. (People pulling out into driveways without paying attention, IYKYK.) I have about 300 miles on these, again on mostly hard surfaces, and I have not noticed any wear, so I expect these to last a very long time.
