I am by no means a macro photo guru so take what I say with a grain of salt...That said the lens is really good, especially for the price. I was looking at Macro lenses and didn't want to spend a fortune since I'm only using it for photos of flowers and food. I almost decided on a Fuji that was 3-4 times the price. Then stumbled upon this lens. Figured for the price, it was worth a shot. It exceeds my expectations. I'm using it with an XT4 and a macro focusing rail. I basically set the lens to 1:1 and then use the focus rail to get things in focus. A cheap off camera flash and you get decent photos without a lot of stress. For some strange reason, there has been an accumulation of dust inside the lens after about a year of owning it, despite myself using caps on both sides when not in use. I'm not sure what the reason for that is, but it's a problem that I've not had with any of the other four lenses that I've bought for my X Mount camera. As for macro performance, the magnification is about the same as advertised.
