Nice little machine, I purchased it to clean my body jewelry (septum clickers, curved & circular barbells, labret studs, etc.) You can safely put faux-opals in here & not have to worry. You can also clean glasses, waterproof watches, any jewelry can be put in here. You just use water, press one button to select the time & start it, very easy!! You can add jewelry cleaning chemicals to the water, but with stones such as real opals or pearls, you only use water as they are porous stones & any chemicals can ruin them.
