The fabric is like T-shirt material, it is soft and it flows well, and it is easy to care for. You can dress up an outfit with this vest or wear it with a shirt and jeans. It fits in with whatever you want to wear with it. I’ll be buying several more colors. I love the way it fits. It fits perfectly, hangs on my body nicely and feels great on. The collar doesn't lay back like it shows in the picture on-line but it's still nice. I really like the light gray color. The only negative (which doesn't warrant taking off a star) was one of the pockets had a hole about the size where a quarter could go through. Looked like the sewing machine going around the pocket missed the seam. I was able to hand stitch it. I really like the light weight of this vest which means I will be able to wear it summer or winter. In fact, some restaurants tend to be a little cool especially in the summer when the air conditioner is on and this vest will keep my back warm.
