Sanuk was started by surfers in southern California in the late '90s who were looking for footwear that reflected their lighthearted way of life. Founder Jeff Kelley was disappointed to see little selection in a category of footwear that had become his main shoe staple: the flip flop. Jeff had always been interested in footwear and with a little help from a few friends Sanuk was born. Bought from Amazon, who had the best price by far, that I could find on these boots.  They arrived in less than a week, too. My son doesn't wear leather and it's been hard to find fashionable boots until now.  He loves the regular slip-on Sanuks, but I have to say, they don't last very long.  These boots seem like they will hold up much better because they aren't as loose/sloppy.  He says they're comfortable but his toes are right at the end of the size 13, whereas his other PU boots (a cheap brand) are size 12 and much more generous.  Apparently the waxed canvas kept his feet quite dry on one of the wettest days of the year.  I think they look good on his foot--less awkward than in the photos.  Both of us are happy with this purchase.

these shoes are versatile.  they can be worn casually or dressy especially for a college kid.  very comfortable; hope they last!

Comfy however, one eyelet came off after a month and the heel seam has fallen apart after 4 months. Disappointing considering the price.
