This shirt from the WarbirdShirts™ collection features the Lockheed P-2 Neptune. Though development of the P-2 began during World War II, the aircraft were not ready for the United States Navy until 1945. Before the advent of the P-3 Orion in the 1960s, the P-2 Neptune was the Navy’s primary anti-submarine and patrol aircraft, and it saw action in both Korea and Vietnam. Several variants were produced, including the P2-V5F, which featured turbojet engines. Neptunes were exported to Japan, Australia, Argentina, and other nations; the Argentina P-2s fought against Britain in the Falklands War. Over a thousand P-2s were produced in all variations.
