The ramp is 7'-10" long by 44" wide (folds to 22" wide), giving you plenty of room to ride up the ramp while safely planting your feet. because the cross-rods are so close together (less than 3" apart) you also have the option of safely walking alongside the motorcycle as you throttle the bike up the ramp. LOADING APPLICATIONS: 1) The ramp will load most stock cruisers onto surfaces about 31" off the ground without the motorcycle bottoming out (the frame hitting where the ramp touches the tailgate). 2) The image above is is showing a Harley with a slight rake loading onto an F-250 4x4 that is 35" off the ground. Notice the tailgate is sloping down, we are using tailgate extenders. Without the extenders the bike would "bottom out". see below for tailgate extender information. 3) Motorcycles with shorter wheel bases like sport bikes (60" long - center of axle to center of axle) will load onto 35" high surface without the extenders. Cruiser wheel bases are about 68" long. 4) For surfaces higher than 31" you have several options to "cheat" to allow successful loading. a) Position your truck to attain the 31" tailgate height, by backing up to a curb or hill, or an apron on a driveway. b) Utilizing TAILGATE EXTENDERS, which can be purchased directly from the manufacturer by going to their website - "ridertailgate". The ramp stores easily, simply fold the ramp in half and place it on it's edge leaning against the truck beds sidewall.
