The non-metallic CED130 Cable Entry Device with Brush-Style Cover is the newest product in Arlington's SCOOP series of entrance plates and hoods. It provides an aesthetically pleasing installation, while organizing and protecting low voltage cable against abrasion. Plus, mounting holes allow you to attach a decorator-style wall plate to the low voltage side of an electrical box, while providing extra support to the installation. Each package includes (2) #6 screws for complete installation and the entry device may also be installed in reverse for a recessed look.

Used this item to run audio-video cables down from TV to my entertainment system. This style works with existing Decora outlets and plates. The “brush” style allows a tone of cables to come through will blocking the view of the hole into the wall cavity and makes it easy to “fish” the wire out. The advantage of an open hole with the aesthetics of a rubber gasketed plate. Other styles require pulling the wires through the plate and then attaching to the wall. You can still do that with this one if you prefer but you don’t have to. Build quality seems good.

Less movement than hood type. Easier to add cable by my customers when i leave a pull line. HDMI cable pass through much easier.
