Review: Fantastic media storage - I spent a great deal of time last year trying to find a replacement for our old dvd cabinet that was stuffed to overflowing and damaged by time, weight, and children/pets. It was of a style with storage both on the shelves as well as in the doors, doubling the capacity without increasing the footprint a huge amount, extremely important in our small home. I was struggling a great deal to find a replacement. Most shelving I was finding actually held considerably fewer. Most that were an improvement were a great deal larger in width, which wouldn’t work with our limited space. I found a couple of options that were essentially like ours, only with two stacked on top of each other, which seemed questionable to me given the way the doors on ours sagged and deformed over time from the weight. Then I found this! The amounts it holds almost seemed like overkill when coming from storage that held 250ish dvds, but the smaller ones didn’t seem like we’d be future proofing enough, especially if I wanted to free up other shelf space elsewhere from the video games (which I did). We went ahead and followed the recommendation to get a metal lazy Susan for the turning mechanism. We never tried the plastic one it came with, but we found it extremely dubious that it would hold up over time. It seemed way too flimsy and seeing what fifteen years of use did to the manufactured wood of our last case, it just didn’t seem possible that plastic would last. Now we’ve had it a bit over a year. It’s holding up great so far. The material for each individual shelf is thin enough I wonder about its longevity, but so far so good. The shelf with the Buffy season dvds appears to be sagging just a tad at the front, but this will be less of a potential issue for any collection that isn’t going back 20+ years with the greatly reduced packaging that’s become standard. The footprint was a bit bigger than I pictured from the dimensions because of the extra space needed for the corners to turn past the wall, but it still was within the bounds of our limited space. My husband assembled it and it’s been over a year, so I don’t recall how easy it was. My waving him at the reviews here was sufficient for him to put it together complete with the extra metal hardware, so it must not have been too bad. On an amusing note, it’s become one of the favorite spots for the cats. They all love sitting on top and the two smaller ones sometimes pretend to be DVDs and sit on the bottom in an empty shelf. Those two seem doomed to some disappointment in the future, though, as my DVD acquisition bumped up considerably once I actually had room again. That can also be attributed to the greedy media companies out there, who took a great thing in Netflix streaming and destroyed it, making it easier and cheaper to just spend $5-10 on a movie on physical media and not have to play guessing games over which service has what now and are we subscribed (and is far cheaper than buying digitally only to have the content yanked at a whim). If you have a lot of physical media and expect to get more, this is a great investment for long term organization. Don’t let renting rather than ownership of your entertainment become standard!
Review: What a great rack! I'm Talking About Media Storage - I've converted my office closet adding shelves for my books, I purchased rack storage for my vinyl collection of over 500 60s and 70s rock n roll. I have numerous display cases for my 80s horror and science fiction collectibles and statues. And Now I have a spinning media storage rack for my movies and CDs. It came with no damage to any of the shelves and all the hardware was present. I read through the instructions which are very easy to understand. I had it assembled in about an hour. I like how each step makes the rack more solid and secure. I used the plastic 'lazy susan' it came with and has no issues with the weight distribution and it spins easily and silently. I went with black and it looks great. Now I have to go through and get everything in alphabetical order. Conclusion: easy to assemble by one person, goes together easily, feels solid and well-constructed, spins with no issues with included 'lazy-susan' and I still have room to add movies for the next several years. Rating: 5/5

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terrific Design, Handsome Appearance, Nice Build and Price Appropriate...But Needs a Stronger Swivel
*by D***N on February 1, 2026*

OK! I felt it important to write a review on this product for a number of reasons. First, whoever came up with the design must've worked through trial and error because they did a really good job in the design. They must've been a creative sort. Actually, it's not that hard to put together excepting one area. So let me give you some of my pros and cons. PROS 1) Even though the product is wooden laminate they did a really good job of ensuring a quality build and a quality look. They could have never used plywood or real wood as the weight alone would have been would have been overwhelming for most folks. The product as designed come in two large heavy boxes. 2) The shipping boxes are very durable and the products inside are well insulated from any sharp or etc., damage on the outside of the boxes. The boxes are not only sealed with a strong shipping tape, but they also have the plastic bindings around them to secure them. Clearly, they have done a good job in ensuring the package arrives safely and without any internal damages to the product. 3) The product look is fairly handsome like I noted earlier. 4) In my opinion, a big PRO to this media tower it's a better look then they swivel tower that you see all over Facebook these days, has a bigger capacity and comes in a number of various colors. 5) Whether or not you use the plastic swivel that comes with the product (by the way which is gonna be a much easier install for a novice by far) or you add the DIY 12" metal swivel the product is as advertised. 6) Now there may be some people that will question the use of particleboard anything else would be cost prohibited...by far. The item sa advertised is well worth the money. It will look handsome in your home based on whatever color you choose to match it with in your home. It will provide you with an increased storage capacity for other things on your shelves or take things that are currently in boxes or items on the floor and tidy up your house. 7) Finally, if I had to do it over again, I would purchase the product again without hesitation (but only with the additional metal swivel). Most likely I will buy a second one. What's important to note that while I wanted to give the product 5 STARS I just couldn't in good conscience due to the fact of the swivel is just AWLFUL! CONS 1) The instructions while manageable for the built it clearly needs some fine tuning. The instructions work for somebody who has some hands-on ability, but if you're a DYI novice the instructions could be challenging. What they need to do is sit down with a novice and design a better step-by-step build through the novice's eyes. 2) The BIGGEST CON, and this outweighs everything, is the plastic swivel that they include with the product. While it may be creatively designed, it is just flimsy, clunky and will never hold up to the weight that this product could hold especially with the product holding all CDs. The weight would just be too much for both the swivel and the particle board below it. I can't see it lasting for any length of time. When I purchased the item, I didn't realize that just below the item there is that option that allows for you to buy other items with the product you're buying. It wasn't until I started unboxing that I knew I needed to order a new 12" metal swivel from Amazon. You can get the new swivel for about $12-$15. Trust me while it takes a little would take a little more work to put it together it's well worth it. (actually if I had to do it over again, I'd probably order a 16" swivel but that's just me. There is a pretty rough YouTube video by a gentleman who walks you through the entire build of the product. He does a good job, although clearly video scripting and editing is not one of his finer attributes but overall he does a really good job. What's really important is he shows you how to add your new metal swivel and he does a really good job in showing you how to do that especially for those of you that may have never done anything like that. I'm not the best with my hands, but I'm not the worst but the video of installation of the swivel help me to put it together. If you're going to buy a metal swivel, I've attached a number of items that I think you'll need in order to install it. I would recommend everybody watch the video before they start the build unless they're an expert DY person. 3) The third area that is a CON to me is that the little shelving pins that hold the shelf up there's five per shelf some just go in very easily. Some you have to push a little bit harder, but some you need to have a soft hammer to get them firmly in the hole. On a sidenote, you get five extra shelf tabs. Should you lose one along the way. 4) The fourth Con in my opinion is you do not get any extra screws. To me this is problematic because several of them are very small and if you dropped one and it fell somewhere where you couldn't get it, you'd be out of luck you'd either have to go to Home Depot, lowe's, or call the toll-free number or email them and that would take a lot of time in order to get them. They should provide a few extras just like they did with the shelving tabs. BUILD ADVISE 1) When you are inserting the black plastic shelving pins. Turn the piece side ways and then turn it left of right. You'll find it goes in the holes much easier. I didn't learn this trick until I was 60% through installing the shelves. 2) When installing the four dowels (where you drop the vertical pieces onto) DO NOT tap them too hard or they will go through the particle board. I learned this the hard way. 3) When placing the Camlocks in the holes remember to align them with opening at the ends. There is a designation on the cam locks to let you know how to insert them. 4) If you are only going to use the product for some DVD's/Blu Ray/CD's and have lightweight flowers, stuffed animals, nicknacks, pictures and etc. perhaps the plastic swivel will work just fine. Clearly, it will be an easier assembly. 5) Use a power hand drill as it will work much better when screwing in the bolts and screws. The drill will give just the right tension. 6) Enjoy the product and here's to a less cluttered house that look delightfully better! TOOLS FOR INSTALL Out of the Box 1) Small hand held Electric Drill for the screws and bolts 2) Rubber mallet for hard to insert shelving pins 3) Box Cutter knife to open the boxes 4) Medium and Small Phillips Screw Drivers TOOL FOR DYI 12" METAL SWIVEL INSTALL 1) Small hand held Electric Drill for the screws and bolts 2) Rubber mallet for hard to insert shelving pins 3) Box Cutter knife to open the boxes 4) Medium and Small Phillips Screw Drivers 5) (8) #6 x 1/2" Flat Phillips Wood Screws 6) Scratch AWL or a 2" to 3" nail 7) Red pencil or marker to highlight holes 8) 1/2" Tape in aligning base, swivel and holes Cheers!
