After the coffee filters into the pot it can sit directly on the stove and remain the right temperature for a 2nd cup of coffee. It can stay hot enough so that my cream doesn’t cool it down too much. I also bought this little Turkish decanter. I place the decanter (with its awesome pour spout) under the espresso spout and it is PERFECT for receiving the espresso and transferring it, one at a time, to the six people holding empty cups lined up behind me in my kitchen waiting to receive their espresso portion for the morning. Lots of friends love my new espresso coffee from the RIVO). This little Turkish decanter is also great FOR receiving the filtered water from my frig and transferring it into the water reservoir on the RIVO without spilling the water. You see, my coffee machine is snuggled under some low hanging cabinets, and this is a perfect decanter for filling up that water reservoir under those low cabinets.
