How long do the 3 x AAA batteries last?** A: I don't know the difference between those two model but I can help with the battery question. I believe mine have been going strong for at least 3 years. I try and remember to give them a good test every 6 months. We had 4, which was more than enough for under the sink and vanities. I have only heard the things go off once, and that was only because I watered a plant and it dripped down from the counter and onto the floor and got to one of his frogs. It was SO loud and freaked me and the cats out. It was like the fire department was coming to our house. I have never seen him run so fast to check his frogs. This was in our last house. Now, we have a house twice as big and sure enough, 4 more frogs came in the mail! He claimed he bought them for coworkers. Nope. He has snuck them in and these things are all over my house now! I am pretty sure we have more than 8 but I am too lazy to gather his army and count them.
