After researching I found that sea sponges were very good for exfoliating your skin. The first time I purchased the sponge it lasted for months and it had a soft part and a rougher part which was perfect. The second time I purchased it it only lasted a few months before breaking apart the third time I purchased it it fell apart within the first couple uses. There is no consistent quality in this sponge which is sad because it's got perfect combination of rough and soft. I wouldn't recommend buying this product because you don't want to spend $10 and have it last only a few days before it breaks apart. It's only just now starting to come apart a little bit. I suspect it will last a couple more months before I have to replace it. I like using a natural sponge for dishes because it never gets smelly. Natural sponges won't harbor bacteria the way synthetic ones do as long as you keep them clean (i.e. rinse all of the food, soap, etc, after each use). The sponge gets soft when wet and won't scratch your dishes.
