The “locking mechanism” interferes with the ability to fully open it and lay the pages out flat for writing, as it raises the center of the page about 3/8 of an inch, causing the whole thing not to lay flat. This effectively prevents the user from having a solid surface on which to write when using the left hand or back side of the pages. Also, while the paper is nice and thick, preventing bleed-through and ghosting, even with fairly “wet” fountain pens, it lacks a smooth enough finish to keep a fine-bobbed fountain pen from picking up paper fibers and becoming clogged over time.If you use felt tips, roller balls or ball-points it’s probably “good enough” paper.
