I use this stain a lot since I am chemically sensitive, and if you use it in its own way, it can be great. I usually buy it untinted (as it is here on Amazon) and use a small amount of flat latex paint mixed with it as a colorant. This way I can get any color that I want. This stain mix does obscure the grain slightly so you wouldn't want to use it on gorgeous grain, but it's top notch for blending different woods into harmony. I have also used it as a glaze for faux wood graining. I have stained alder cabinet doors next to faux grained (white primed) finger jointed pine filler strips and you have to look to tell the difference. Experiment with this stuff and you can do amazing things. For staining bare wood I typically paint it on with a sponge brush and let it dry. This raises the grain so then I sand it down and apply another coat and let dry. If I want more color I do another coat. Top this off with 3 or 4 light coats of a clear coat. For graining I usually do 2 to 3 coats with a sponge brush in a streaky fashion, letting the irregularities vary from one coat to the next. 2 to 3 coats of clear coat and it's done. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, no smells and easy to use. *by F***D on September 1, 2021* The product is easy to use.
