I have some bare metal and some areas of existing paint and other primer.** A: As long as you sand the paint and medal with at least 220 grit sand paper fine. I have been using it on fiberglass/paint. It will show you the high spots and lows. You could also use a contrast material to make sanding easier to get your smooth finished product. Hope this helps. **Q: How long does it have to dry before recoating?** A: It is mainly depending on environmental temperture. Watch the first coat, when it flashes, it is ready for the next coat.
