Sturdy, too - so it's a great value. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy boot but very large with 8 inch rubber pad *by F***R on February 12, 2026* Probably a good boot for horses with a large hoof or if the hoof is wrapped. There's thick, removable, rubber pad inside which holds up well under pressure. The base of the boot is large with the pad measuring about 8 inches in diameter. We tried this on a horse with a 4.5 inch diameter hoof and found it difficult for the boot to stay in place with the pad under the hoof. When using the provided straps and vet wrap, it was still easy for the horse to shake it off or out of position. Again, this may not happen with a larger hoof.
