For those not familiar with tarps, there are basically 3 thicknesses, 5-6 mil (usually blue), 10 mil (usually silver) and 16 mil (usually brown). The 6 mil tarps are pretty thin and tear easily. They are light weight and easy to handle. The 16 mil is heavy duty. They are sturdy, not easily ripped, but they are heavy and not so easy to work with, especially the larger they are. They are also the most expensive. This tarp is 10 mil. It is medium weight. It is easy to work with and a little more durable than the 6 mil tarps. Raising it 18 feet over the roof trusses was relatively easy using paracord to pull it over. It has rained multiple times, some very heavy rains and the shed has remained dry. We've had a few storm with 10 -15 mph and the tarp is still holding up. For the price, this was a great value.
