Stains won’t that won’t wipe of

Totally disappointed as I have bought these as gifts and they have some sort of stain on 2 of the 3 books I purchased. Such a shame they would be full stars otherwise as they are a cute not too pricey gift for teachers, however I can not give these out with stains on. I had lots more I wanted to buy for my other sons school.
