If I don't use conditioner on the ends my hair has lots of static. Not being moisturizing means it does rinse clean, which ensures it's not on the hair for dirt to stick to. Some reviews say it smells bad. It doesn't have a floral scent, so maybe that's what people don't like. The scent, to me, is like nettle tea...herbal, earthy and doesn't cling to my hair. Although I probably use a little more than recommended. I add some, then more until I get suds. If I don't, then I get oily hair like I didn't even wash. Please be advised that it is all dependent on how much hair you have. I would also advise double washing so that the first wash washing off the dirt and the second wash reacts as a barrier.
