My primary reason for spending more on a Kent comb was because I simply wanted a comb that would not scratch my scalp, and this Kent comb does not scratch my scalp. An added, benefit of this (and any other Kent comb) is how well it is made. It should last many years with proper use. And finally, and I have no idea why this is, but for some reason my hair actually is more manageable, and feels, and looks better since I have been using this comb. Maybe it is the material it is made of, or perhaps the way the comb's surface is finished (all the surfaces are extremely smooth). Or maybe it is the precise spacing and length of the teeth. WHO KNOWS?
