I read online to use a slower 13T pinion with this motor on the hotshot because of overheating, but decided to try a faster pinion at 15T. Paired with a newer 1060 ESC with a capacitor built in, it runs flawlessly. Motor stays relatively cool, a bit warm, but not hot. Ran it for 30 minutes with a NIMH 5000mah battery and ran flawless. I use this in my Tamiya Hotshot 2 BHM. I've tried all 4 pinion set ups in that car and they are work great. Motor is a beast. I also have the Super Stock BZ as well. The RZ motor is my favorite by far. Make sure you replace the plastic bushings with actual sealed bearings.
