However, our Therma-Kool Hot Cold Gel Packs (used for first aid & therapy) are soft and flexible when frozen. - Nortech Labs Inc **Q: Can you use them for international travel or are they TSA approved?** A: I used these for medication for a trip overseas and had no issue. I did a double bag; meds and gel ice in smaller bag and smaller bag in larger bag with gel ice. It worked fairly well. I contacted a pharmacy at first airport and they had another ice pack ready for rest of my trip. Complicated but my meds arrived safely. Tip: take med bag out of carry on in separate bin at TSA. They will want to look at it. **Q: Could it fit into a 4"x4.5"x1/2" tray?** A: Thank you for your question. Since it turns into a solid brick of gel, it may be too large to fit into a tray of that size. However, we do carry a 3 oz Gel Blox Cold Shipping Pack that is 3.5" x 4". **Q: For how many hours do these keep things cold?** A: We took a cooler to St. John USVI and the entire trip from home to villa was a good 15 hours and when we arrived and unpacked the cooler they were still frozen. These paks held up brilliantly. The paks were both still very cold on day three.
