So small and handy to put in most bags, practical! The shiny film is coated on the inside of the umbrella, you can see how minimal the amount of light that goes through the fabric so I reckon this would work well to shield one from the sun. When I first got it out of the package, the handle knob dropped off. It just wasn't screwed on properly and was easily put back in order. But it gave the first impression of not being that well made. Given the price point though, I didn't mind it that much. I'll see how it would work in the long run as it's just arrived today. ### ⭐ Not good - broke in less than one season of use *by D***D on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2020* Have owned this for less than on rainy season and can say avoid this umbrella.While folding it up last week, one of the joints would not bend. Without applying hard force, tried to get the umbrella to close and the joint snapped.Don't expect great quality from a cheap umbrella but this is not acceptable. Does not hold up well in light wind or rain. A more appropriate use for this would be to use it "maybe" on a sunny day to keep the sun from beating down on you.
