I payed through paypal and we worked out a resolution when only the receiver arrived. So I was not adding the capability to a second car, just trying to get it working.The reciever installs painlessly. Biggest issue was putting another wall anchor in because the hole spacing is different than my old button in the garage. This product is the transmitter that goes into the car. This mounts fairly easily but not as easy as the receiver. I took the back off the headlight bulb compartment (bimmers do not have the more typical twist off the bulb housing arrangement) and traced the wiring throught the connector to the compartment (they switched color codes at the connector) to a location where I wanted to mount the transmitter. I then unwrapped the electrical tape on the wires, soldered in the flash2pass transmitter, and then taped everything back up. The connectors they send with the transmitter look like they are high quality but they assume you have a loose wire to connect to. I think soldering is more dependable than a crimp or screw together connection anyway. It took a couple hours but the biggest part of that was finding the right wire.This should be easier if you have a more typical screw off the bulb housing arrangement. The wires should be on the outside of the housing and you could just connect to them.It works OK. Sometimes I have to signal it more than once and the range seems to be slightly less than my garage door opener unit but still acceptable. It is very handy to be able to tap the highbeam switch a couple times and have the door go up. You don't have to look or take your hands off the wheel. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love these *by K***E on August 12, 2012* I've installed them in three different motorcycles so far, and they are great. Very elegant. No need to find a spot for a garage door switch on the handlebars or instrument surround. It is completely invisible but works very well. The hardest part is finding the high beam wire to connect them to.People tell me they just carry remotes in their pockets, but when I did that I was always losing them or when I pulled up outside my house they'd be sideways in my pocket so I couldn't get to the button without having to fish around. Also, not long ago we had a wave of burglaries in my neighborhood, where the thieves broke in using garage door remotes left in cars parked outside. They wouldn't be able to break in using these. If I parked a car in my garage I'd get a Flash2Pass for it, too. (Assuming it is a newer car whose headlight turns off with the ignition - I would not put one in an older car whose headlights run with the key turned off!)Edited 12/29/2014 to add:The transmitter doesn't work very well on my Ural sidecar outfit. Something about the electrical system, I think, plus all the steel obscures the signal. When I put the transmitter inside the headlight bucket it didn't work at all; I think it was like a faraday cage with all that steel. I moved it to the outside, under the headlight, and now it works but still not very well. If I turn off the ignition it works first time, but when the bike is running it takes many tries if it works at all. The same system works great in all my other bikes; it's just this one that is troublesome.Also, I have now been using this system for a number of years, and brought the receiver along when I moved last year. I hooked it up to the garage door opener in the new place and it worked first try. The transmitters I own are all already introduced to it, and don't have to be re-introduced when I move them to different motorcycles, and the receiver didn't have to be set up again when it moved to a new garage with a completely different opener. It's been marvelously portable and none of the units have failed. ### ⭐ Transmitters won't communicate, customer service ignores emails. *by M***1 on March 4, 2015* I ordered two transmitters to install in my cars and sync up with the receiver/transmitter combo I've had on my motorcycle for years. Unfortunately both failed to sync with my existing receiver. After two requests customer service offered to send a new receiver after their next manufacturing run on January 15. Now it's March and they still don't respond to emails.
