So good that when it whistles it sometimes lifts the lid too!!! But a very strong kettle a good buy **Q: Is any part of the lid plastic?** A: The gold part of the lid is metal, the knob feels rubbery, so is probably insulated. The same with the handle, so I don't think they're plastic. **Q: Hi does it fill with water through spout or do you need to take lid off ..thanks** A: You have to take the lid off. You are supplied a mitten, so if kettle hasn't cooled down you dont burn your hand when steam rises. Plus you have to take top off because the water level should not go above spout level to stop spitting when boiling. **Q: How loud is the whistle? It would be good to see a video clip.** A: Loud enough to here in an adjacent room with the doors open. Not overly loud. Initially thought of sending it back. Got used to it now. It boils water on an aga and looks pretty 👍 ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful, functional kettle! *by M***J on 6 August 2026* I’m absolutely delighted with this beautiful kettle. But took the plunge anyway, especially with 20% on a Prime Day deal. Kettle looks and feels great. Yes it does get hot, but so does anything put on a stove! I can pick it up and pour without burning myself, so all good. First attempt, it did not whistle at all! Thought 'on no it's got t go back'. Cooled down and I put my lips to the top side of the whistle and sucked in air - it whistled just fine! So tried again, this time I pushed the lid down nice and tight, so the edges are flush with the kettle. It worked just fine! Okay, I've heard louder whistles on a kettle before but as this is for use on a gas hob aboard a sailing boat, it's just right for my needs. Looks great on the stove. I think the trick for those who complain about discolouration etc, don't have flame licking up the sides! I used on medium and small gas rings and no problemo. Would have given 5 stars but nothing is ever perfect so 4's as close as you get ;-) ## Frequently Bought Together - SUSTEAS Stove Top Whistling Tea Kettle-Surgical Stainless Steel Teakettle Teapot with Cool Touch Ergonomic Handle, with 1 Silicone Pinch Mitt Included,3L (Black) - Marvells Cast Iron Decorative Round Circular Kitchen Trivet --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/140073770-susteas-stove-top-whistling-tea-kettle-3l-stainless-steel-teakettle](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/140073770-susteas-stove-top-whistling-tea-kettle-3l-stainless-steel-teakettle) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
