It's just right. It's a soft/medium bristle and does a great job of sweeping up kitty litter, dust bunnies, dirt, food bits and mess.The dustpan is perfect. It is slanted at the entrance so it allows all the dirt in and nothing sweeps under it. It neatly cleans the broom.Broom and pan fit together nicely and don't take up much storage room.They were easy to assemble.They are stong plastic, but not heavy. The cleaning comb on the pan is also a nice addition.The problem with the set is that it is of poor quality. The handles on both the brush and the pan do not stay on and the set is not well-balanced and can easily fall over. I suppose you could glue on the handles, but that really should not be necessary.
