I've been trained in first response so I was pleasantly surprised at how much extra useful content this kit has over the other kits I have seen and used. (It says it was designed by a paramedic so that makes perfect sense). The first thing I noticed was the hand charged torch and the digital thermometer. Other emergency items include a whistle and foil blanket for if and when you get stranded further from home or if someone goes into shock. For additional first responder items, there is a face mask, (for CPR), and gloves. Both of which are recommended for use on non-family members in a first response situation. All of the usual band-aids, bandages, tapes, and scissors, are in there with the addition of a tourniquet for cutting off the blood supply to an area of the body that is bleeding heavily.
