I am not familiar with the lazy angle but if it cuts 60* triangles I imagine it is essentially the same. It looks like you can cut other angles with the lazy angle. Hope that helps. I mean, it had handy guides for cutting diamonds out of 2-1/2" strips but I could get by with other products I had. Nevertheless, I proceeded with this ruler on cutting diamonds for a Jaybird pattern called "Nourish". After ripping out a bunch of stitches I realized I was supposed to cut the diamonds, then flip them 90 degees and cut off the tips. Once I did that, it was like the clouds parted and the angels sang. My rows went together perfectly and the lone star pattern came together like a dream. It has now become one of my prized rulers. I'm about to embark on "Journey to Nebula" with Julie Herman, who is a gifted quilter and a genuinely nice person.
