You are not supposed to leave the faucet open for more than 12 hours at a time. Perhaps this is true of all frost-free faucets. I don't know. However, if I had known this, I would not have used two of these to replace old faucets, which were installed through brick walls. After a season of leaving them on most of the time, many days at a time, one started to drip out of the hole in the stem, just inboard of the handle. I called the company and they said this was not covered under the warranty and that I could buy a valve repair kit. The cost of the kit was about the same as the cost of the faucet, although I see you can get it more about half the cost on Amazon. The actual part that failed was a small o-ring, which should be a few cents, but the time and effort of turning off the water and disassembling the faucet is a real hassle. Less hassle than breaking these out of the brick walls again and replacing, so that's what I'm stuck with. To be fair, the label clearly states this limitation, but it never occurred to me to look. Imagine a faucet that can only be turned on for limited periods of time. Guess I need to check the next light switch or gas valve I install for a similar limitation. I was looking for a particular size (length) to build a hose reel away from the house and all the bushes I have to battle to turn the water on and off. In reading the description I assumed that the inlet was 3/4 inch which would have been fine.
