Functions as needed and works well
This jack stand was easy to operate and securely held the adjusted height. It worked great to raise wand lower my laser bed but was just too big. I returned it and bought a smaller size. If I needed a larger one, I would not hesitate to buy this again. Quality product and a good value for the money.

Grreat quality vs Price on this small but supersturdy chem lab jack.
Very light-weight yet quite sturdy, excellently designed chemistry "lab jack" (adjustable 4 x 4 " square platform that can bear moderate weight, and can be raised or lowered easily by turning big knob at forefront of photo.) The other reviews were kinda so-so when I ordered this, and consider this jack one of my best choices as to quality (i.e. other than abuse such as asking jack to hold many 10s of pounds of weight, well above its design, the device, treated well, should treat YOU well, as well!!!).

Not bad
This jack is a decent buy for the money, but as always you get what you pay for. The top and bottom plates are exceedingly thin (0.7 mm). Thin enough that one of the corners on the top plate was bent, which I think happened in shipping. It came in a very flimsy card board box which was put in a thinly padded postoffice envelope. (Incidentally what you see in the pictures are the bottom of the jack. Those are four green rubber feet.) The plate material seems to have been cut from left over stock. Both the top and the bottom had some deep scribe marks that had nothing to do with the manufacturing. The material looks like stainless steel, but it is magnetic - you be the judge. The scissor material looks like galvanized steel. The stability is not bad after you tighten the four screws. There is some remaining wobble that comes from play in the longitudinal slots that you can't do anything about. Since I needed to paint it anyway I didn't bother returning it for the cosmetic flaws. The exact range (with the rubber feet) is 47.6 to 155 mm. As a professional scientist I can say that it does not belong in a lab, but for the appropriate light home use it is fine and the price is good for what you get.

Nice hardware. Lackluster delivered quality.
It works fine, but the deck appeared totally scratched up on top and sides. Turns out it was a protective layer, but leaves a very bad visual impression. Also the nuts were not right and almost falling off - had to significantly tighten them all

Works as expected
The platforms are quite thin so provided you don't bend them (e.g. drop on floor, put a black hole in the center, etc.) they do their job. What I liked was that there was not much play in the mechanism which could have caused the platform to slope from horizontal - unless the maximum elevation was reached which was to be expected.

Buy a better brand.
I bought this with medium expectations. Quite frankly, I would have been better off without it.I expected the lift to operate squarely, but it doesn't, and can't.There's too much play in the scissor action for it to be square across all 4 corners of the lift. When working with lasers and engraving, the ability to remain square to the laser (and the table) is essential. The best I've been able to do is get it within about 1/8". with a few minutes of adjusting the corners. The intent for me was to put a piece of wood on this, engrave it with a grid for positioning objects to be laser engraved. However, with the amount of play that's in this lab lift - any time the lift is moved, the platform will need to be adjusted to be square. Unfortunately, any time you adjust the platform, the grid is no longer accurate.I did email the vender, who was non-responsive.There was no direct contact for the supplier from Amazon. They refer you to the supplier website. Poking around for contact info leads you to one email address. I haven't received a reply yet.

Unique use
I use this to raise and lower work surface for laser engraver. Gives much greater versatility. High quality, easy operation.

Great for my intended use
I use this to control the height of the cutting bed on my laser engraver. I drilled a hole in the front of the laser case and extended the control arm so I don't have to take everything out every time I need to adjust the height. Works like a charm!
