I was also worried it would be too big and take up too much space and while it is a regular gym size stepper, it doesn't take up as much space as I thought it would. If it did, you can easily pick it up and stand it up against the wall or tuck underneath a workout bench or storage. It came with 4 risers, but right now I have only used 2 (one on each side) for a 6" level stepper. Without any risers the stepper is 4" height, with 1 set is 6" and with 2 sets is 8". It is easy to clean and disinfect too and assemble/dissemble if you need to move it or transport it some place else. I like that it has the ridges for extra grip vs. other ones I reviewed, but it does leave marks on your hands a bit if you use it too much like I do.
